What to do

The examiner gives you a series of photographs (2 in level B2 or 3 in level C1) and asks you to talk about them. You have to speak for 1 minute without interruption and the examiner then asks the other candidate to comment on your photographs for about 30 seconds.

Later you also have to listen and comment for about 30 seconds on the other candidate’s pictures when they have finished speaking.

Remember that this part of the exam is not a discussion, so don’t interrupt while your partner is speaking. Listen carefully to what your partner says and then answer the question the examiner asks you.

Remember that there is no right or wrong answer. The examiner is interested in your ability to express your own opinion, not the truth.

If you don’t know anything about a topic in the Speaking paper, do not talk about anything else. You need to show your language skills, not your knowledge about a specific subject.
